My biggest accomplishment: GREEN BOOK

How it started: In 2009 I decided to start a project to provide to the schools all the stuff necessary for the English department. On February- 2009, Green Book started at the school Colegio Mixto Integración Moderna with 1200 students in charge.
Foundation: Teaching English relies on a multitude of elements and variables that make it a complex process. It involves the participation of humans, feelings, emotions, cognitive and mental issues, implementation and design of the syllabus, the goals of the teachers and the expectations of the learners, among other stuff.
What does Green Book offer to the schools?
• It is crucial for us to design and implement strategies applied through a curriculum and a syllabus based on the real needs of the population, implementation of specific tasks, and skill- developing oriented to the necessities of each school. Also it is important for us to develop our classes based on the Communicative Language Teaching approach and to foster autonomy in the learners, providing materials that will help them to scaffold their new knowledge.
• Based on the specific design of the curriculum that fits the necessities of the school, Green Book designs material to reach the goals proposed on the analysis. We implement different kind of activities to work on the different skills and also we include other activities that can help students to fulfill the necessities in the acquisition of English as a second language. Some of the activities are: placement tests, board games, posters, phonetics activities, video activities and song club.
We work with all the Groups: pre- school, elementary and high school.

• As a complement of the curriculum and the material designed, Green Book offers extra curricular activities that represent the participation of all the community. Some of these are: spelling bee contest, English club and visits to different places around the city with an English tour guide.
