ORGANIZING
To organize your ideas coherently can help you improve the flow of your writing and keep your writing focused on your thesis statement. To organize your ideas into a paragraph follow the instructions below:
1. After developing the prewriting technique of your choice (listing ideas, note taking or/and flowchart) decide which is going to be the most important point of your paragraph as well as the facts and ideas that will best support the main idea. Then you are ready to develop your outline in which you will elaborate upon those facts ideas and points you have chosen.

For further assistance on how to differentiate the topic statement from the facts, ideas and details that support it, answer the following questions:
o What are the key ideas and differing opinions about your topic?
o Which of your ideas directly answer the question, issue or topic of the paragraph?
o Which of the ideas interest you most?
2. After answering these questions you are going to expand those ideas that lack sufficient support (at this point you might need to do some more research to fill the gaps).
